On Sunday 9th July 28 keen runners from the RSM Leeds office took part in the Leeds 10K Corporate Challenge in support of The Leeds Fund. As in previous years the RSM team were confronted with hot temperatures and tricky running conditions. Nevertheless 26 members of the team made it to the finish line 1 hour and 15 minutes later, a record for team RSM and a brilliant performance from everyone.
The team not only took 2nd place overall in the Leeds Corporate Challenge (another RSM best!) but also raised nearly £500 for The Leeds Fund, a new charitable initiative launched by Leeds Community Foundation that is focusing on mental health this year. The Fund relies on the generosity of businesses and individuals who care about their city and want to ‘give something back’, and since its launch has supported a number of amazing mental health organisations in Leeds.
Overall, it was a fantastic day enjoyed by all. Simon Jones of RSM, commented:
“It was fantastic to see so many people work hard in training and then push themselves to complete the challenge. Many people enjoyed it so much that they are already planning a possible return for the Abbey Dash in November.
Overall it was a great day out with a well organised event that had something for everyone. We are looking forward to returning next year and maybe going one step higher in the corporate challenge.”
Thanks to RSM for their support!
