Leeds Community Foundation and social enterprise consultancy SEE Ahead are delighted to be working with Leeds City Council on the Ideas that Change Lives programme. The Ideas that Change Lives programme offers business support and financial investment to support and encourage organisations and individuals to develop socially enterprising ideas that enable Leeds residents with care and support needs to remain independent. The types of activity we seek to fund include alternatives to traditional day care and support services; brokerage; health and wellbeing promoting activities; employment related opportunities. The programme is funded through Leeds City Council Adult Social Care’s “Better Lives” initiative which aims to ensure services help people to live independently.
Applicants can also access practical support to help develop their ideas, on a one-to-one basis and via a workshop/seminar programme.
Projects funded through this programme must benefit residents of Leeds, aged 16+, with care and support needs such as:
- Older people
- People with a learning disability; physical disability or sensory impairment
- People with mental health needs
- People with alcohol or substance use issues
- People with long term health conditions
- Young people in transition between services
