LCF has been established in Leeds for ten years and, in that period, has gained a strong reputation for putting on interesting and enjoyable events. Whether it’s the regular gatherings of our 100 club members, team events such as the Dragon Boat or Dragon’s Den evenings with speakers such as Sir Tim Smit, they are well-run and well-attended.

We have included information below about our exciting 2016 events programme, individual elements of which are available for sponsorship. In return for great profile in association with a popular event, your support enables us to continue to build on and demonstrate the incredible impact our work has in the local community.

Leeds Leads 2017: Encouraging Happy Young Minds

Our annual Leeds Leads event has become an established part of the region’s calendar for businesses and city influencers, with previous key note speakers including Andy Street, CEO of John Lewis; Alastair Campbell, writer and former press secretary; and ex-professional footballer, Clarke Carlisle.  Each year, a thought provoking and stimulating event is themed in line with the strategic focus of The Leeds Fund, thereby linking city and business priorities with the strategic needs and ambitions of its people and communities.

Leeds Leads: Encouraging Happy Young Minds will be a beacon event for senior leaders and decision makers in Leeds and takes place on 6 July 2017.  it provides the opportunity for an open conversation around Mental health, especially that of young people, to help understand the widespread and misunderstood issues and challenges that can have detrimental impacts on individuals, businesses and communities.  Leeds is a city where 20% of Primary and Secondary school students say they feel stressed or anxious.  The City Council has pledged to become a beacon city for mental health, an issue which affects 1 in 4 of us at some point in our lives and has a significant impact on families, communities and businesses and ultimately whether the city of Leeds can truly thrive.

Leeds Leads: Encouraging Happy Young Minds aims to attract key decision makers, CEOs, directors, head partners and CSR leads to present a call to action for businesses to ‘play their part’ in recognising, understanding and supporting mental health issues across our city .

As well as a special guest, we will be joined by a panel of experts who have insight into mental health issues, and have a vested interest in resolving the challenges that mental ill health can present. Leeds City Council Chief Executive, Tom Riordan will be joining the panel.

Catering will include tea, coffee and a light lunch.

 100 Club Events

Group networkingThe 100 club is our prestigious and popular patronage scheme. For an annual membership of £1,000 members demonstrate their commitment to Leeds and have the opportunity to meet with like-minded individuals. 100 Club members (and guests) meet once a quarter at different venues in the city, sometimes hosted by members themselves. The events give people the opportunity to hear about particular challenges that Leeds faces as well as learning about new initiatives we are running to address them. We showcase a community group and they talk about their important work with local communities.

The event welcomes between 60-80 guests and takes place mid-week between 6-8 pm. Catering includes beverages such as wine, beer and orange juice. We normally offer canapés throughout the evening.

Members include: business owners; senior representatives from national and international Plc’s; and local philanthropists. Take a look at our current membership list.

Our final 100 Club of the year acts as a celebration event to highlight the successes to date and thank our ambassadors and sponsors. The event welcomes 100-120 guests from the private, public and third sector organisations who have worked with the Foundation. Key press and journalists are invited to these occasions as the night often acts as a campaign launch for a new Foundation initiative.

Catering includes wine, beer, fizzy wine, orange juice and other soft drink options. We normally offer canapés throughout the evening.

Our website is our face to the outside world and enables us to present ourselves effectively to communicate our message to community groups, the public and potential donors. We successfully redeveloped our website in 2013 in line with our new branding. Website sponsorship will enable us to maintain the website, introduce new page features and updates.
