Bramley Baths shares its success with the city through Leeds Community Foundation

24 July 2025

Leeds-based community benefit society, Bramley Baths, has pledged an annual donation to Leeds Community Foundation. The move demonstrates the organisation’s commitment to supporting other Leeds charities, for the benefit of people in the city.

Bramley Baths is a recipient of Leeds Community Foundation funding, having been awarded more than £50,000 in grants since 2012. Their most recent was a multi-year strategic grant from the Foundation’s flagship programme, The Leeds Fund. They credit that grant with helping them to establish a volunteer programme and develop partnerships which have supported not only their own sustainability, but that of other local community organisations.

Speaking following the board’s decision to invest a percentage of their surplus back into communities through Leeds Community Foundation, Bramley Baths Chief Executive Officer, David Wilford, said:

“We understand the vital role of Leeds Community Foundation as a funder in the city. We wanted to give back, supporting them to fund others in a way that has had such far-reaching benefits for us and our local community. So, we now give a donation to the Foundation each year.”

Leeds Community Foundation said:

“What Bramley Baths is doing is a great example of how to create a circular social impact economy. They’ve seen the benefit of funding from the Foundation and how that’s helped their sustainability and success. And now they’re sharing that success back through us, so we can support more organisations like them. As a funder, it’s a real endorsement of their experience with us as a grant holder and of our role in the city.”

Bramley Baths’ annual donation will be distributed through The Leeds Fund, the very same programme which supported their recent development.
