Community Advisory Group

Our Community Advisory Group supports us to become the best funder we can be, responsive to the needs of community organisations and local communities.

About the Community Advisory Group

The Advisory Group is a mix of community organisations that use their knowledge and experience to inform, guide and advise Leeds Community Foundation. The member organisations are of different ages and sizes. Some have been funded many times, some have not received grants before. They work in different areas of the city and with a diverse variety of people.

The Advisory Group gives us a picture of life in the city, feedback on our grant making practice and views on policy issues. The group made a valuable contribution to the shaping of our 2024-2029 Strategy. Other contributions include:

  • providing a real time picture of needs in Leeds’ communities
  • reviewing language and questions used in our Application and Reporting forms
  • identifying what support is valuable for grant holders
  • informing us about the impact of Employers NI contributions and Living Wage increases
  • helping develop our Gift Acceptance policy
  • shaping our initial position on the use of AI within grant making
  • discussing concerns about far-right violence in communities
  • sharing the impact of cuts to mental health, bereavement and Children’s Services
