Family fund provides opportunities for thousands
4 August 2026

The Flint Family Fund has supported more than 14,300 people since its launch in 2020.
We’ve worked closely with the Flint family to fund projects that align with their mission to support children and young people. The focus has been on providing extra-curricular activities that help address the gaps in opportunities and engagement that come with experiencing disadvantage.
Over 5 rounds of the fund, we’ve given 46 grants to 41 community organisations in Leeds. And what a difference they’ve made.
They’ve run everything from tennis sessions to music groups. Arts clubs to day trips. Dance and movement sessions. Self-care workshops. Cooking clubs. Family respite days. A roller skate library. And so much more.
And the impact has been significant.

Well over 14,000 children, young people and their families have taken part. And they’ve gained a lot. Some have better mental health or wellbeing. Some are more confident communicating and in social situations. Many have increased their aspirations for the future. And some have better relationships.
Like this dad and his son, who attended Jason Robinson Foundation’s project.
He said “It was great to spend time with my son with the help of coaches who know him well who I could learn from.
The coaches made the sessions fun and laid back, but also showed me the kinds of activities and games we can play at the park.
It’s helped me understand my child better and for them to see the fun side of their dad too. Thank you!”
Progress like this was thanks to the structured, fun and safe environment Jason Robinson Foundation created. Their weekly sessions included sports, games and family wellbeing workshops delivered in a way that encouraged shared goals and teamwork.
And that’s just one story. There have been thousands more like it over the past 5 years. And there are plenty more to come.

In 2026, we ran a 6th round of the Flint Family Fund with a different focus. This year we’ve funded 16 organisations to support pre-natal, post-natal and early years development. Their work will help both short- and long-term health and wellbeing outcomes for parents and children.
We’d like to extend our deepest thanks to the Flint family for trusting us as their partner to deliver on this mission. Together we really are creating brighter futures for children and young people all across Leeds.
