Healthy Holidays 2024

23 April 2024

We’ve invested almost £900,000 in Leeds Community Organisations to run Healthy Holidays projects over the Easter, summer and Christmas school holidays.

Healthy Holidays projects provide a wide range of fun activities and nutritious food for children whose families may struggle during the school holidays. From physical activities like football and dance, to creative and life skills, children have the chance to try different things and make new friends.

This year, 37 Community Organisations have been awarded grants to run 43 Healthy Holidays projects across Leeds. A full list of the organisations that were awarded funding can be found at the bottom of this page.

Now in its 7th year, Healthy Holidays meets the needs of families in our communities, when budgets are stretched and many people are finding it hard to make ends meet. During the Summer holidays last year, almost 6,000 children took part in Healthy Holidays projects and we hope to see similar this year.

We look forward to sharing more about the impact that Healthy Holidays has on children and families across Leeds throughout 2024.

This year’s Healthy Holidays programme is delivered in partnership with Leeds City Council, as part of the Department for Education’s Holiday Activities and Food programme.
