Leeds Together for Ukraine Fund 2022

24 January 2023

Leeds Community Foundation partnered with Leeds City Council on this programme supporting the arrival and hosting of Ukrainian and other refugees in the city of Leeds. The Leeds Together For Ukraine appeal was launched in response to the humanitarian crisis and aims to provide support to Ukrainian refugees as they build their lives in the UK.

In total, 10 grants were made with more than £135,000 invested in 9 Community Organisations in the city to do this important work.

The organisations that were awarded funding are:

The funded activities include:

        • Delivering needs assessments, primary support meetings and action planning, with ongoing one-to-one support, to help with basic needs as well as opportunities for volunteering, training and skills for work.
        • Providing ESOL classes, group therapy, psychological support, wellbeing services, befriending, recreational activities and assistance with getting settled in the UK.
        • Delivering weekly drama sessions and workshops to bring people from different communities together to have fun and get to know each other.

Activities have been funded for up to one year, and we look forward to sharing the impact of this work once complete.
