Meet Alice, our new Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager

We’ve appointed Alice Liley as our new Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, strengthening the resource in our Partnerships team. Alongside our existing Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, Hannah Buckley, she’ll develop relationships with professional advisers, major donors and corporate partners across Leeds.

Alice brings a wealth of experience in relationship management, sponsorship and fundraising from throughout her career, with roles at Jane Tomlinson’s Run for All and Leeds Hospitals Charity. From fundraising £7m for the Rob Burrow Centre for MND, to honing her ability to connect and communicate with people from all walks of life – in the meeting room and on the race finish line.

Alice shares our passion for local communities. She says “I’ve always loved Leeds. When I moved here from Kent for university, I realised how nice the people are, how varied and diverse the city is, and how passionate our communities are about making change. 10 years later, I’m proud to join Leeds Community Foundation and take a real place-based approach to making a difference on our doorstep.”

Alice’s role will see her steward relationships with the Foundation’s existing donors and partners, and support businesses and individuals to begin their giving journey with us. All with the aim to invest in local communities and make Leeds a fairer place for everyone.

Alice says “I’m looking forward to learning more about what’s going on in the fantastic groups and organisations working across Leeds. There’s so much great work being delivered in communities all over the city, and I’m looking forward to not only learning more about it, but bringing in income so we can fund more of it.”

Reflecting on the highlight from her first few weeks, she says “On my second day I was lucky to attend our Community Engagement Event – a bus trip around the city visiting 3 organisations the Foundation has supported. It was such an incredible way to fully immerse myself in the values of the charity, and see first-hand the change actually happening on the ground.

It was also a great opportunity to meet some of the Foundations donors and partners. Talking to them, I could see the trust and understanding they have that the Foundation knows what’s happening in communities, and can manage their donations effectively and with the most impact.”
