Steph, Chief Executive Officer

Steph joined Leeds Community Foundation in 2020, serving as Deputy CEO and Director of GiveBradford before being appointed Chief Executive in 2024. She has led the Foundation to embark on its new strategy, driving partnerships to make Leeds and Bradford fairer cities for everyone. Born in Leeds to Bradfordian parents, Steph is proud to draw on her experience in social impact roles nationally and internationally across the private, public and charity sectors to make a difference at home. 

 

Alex, Chief Operating Officer

Alex Ellis-White is Chief Operating Officer at Leeds Community Foundation, bringing more than 25 years’ experience in strategic communications, engagement, project management and business transformation across the public, private and third sectors. Previously Communications Business Partner at NHS Digital, Alex is passionate about using innovation and technology to improve lives and is also founder and CEO of the Better Giving Partnership, a volunteer-led charity supporting fundraising and community impact.

 

Josh, Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships

Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships at Leeds Community Foundation and GiveBradford. With more than a decade of experience in philanthropy, corporate fundraising and partnership development across the UK and Australia, Josh has held senior roles with organisations including St John Ambulance, Ronald McDonald House Charities Western Australia, and Curtin University. Passionate about connecting generosity with local impact, he works with individuals, businesses and charitable partners to grow sustainable investment in communities across Leeds and Bradford.

 

Shahed, Head of Grants and Impact

Shahed is Head of Grants and Impact at Leeds Community Foundation, overseeing the Foundation’s grant-making and impact work across Leeds and Bradford. With more than 30 years’ experience spanning local government, charities, and social enterprise, he has designed and delivered funding and community development programmes across the UK and internationally. Passionate about strengthening communities, Shahed is committed to ensuring funding is accessible, equitable and responsive to local needs.
