Our Stories:
Meet Deborah

11 February 2022

“At the beginning of the pandemic, our guests who were living on the streets were housed in hostels and B&Bs. Due to the restrictions, they were unable to access the usual food networks as these were closed. Therefore, it was even more imperative that the Immanuel Project stayed open to provide invaluable support.

Thanks to our faithful team of staff and volunteers, we adapted our service by providing take-away meals. Every week, over three days, we served 500 meals plus and this continued throughout the whole of lockdown. We also provided our guests with basic toiletries, essential clothing and wellbeing support.

With GiveBradford Resilience Funding, we were able to buy everything we needed and in doing so, have supported many of the city’s most vulnerable people over a particularly difficult time.”

The Immanuel Project is a small charity serving the homeless and vulnerable people of Bradford. GiveBradford Resilience Funding enabled them to maintain their essential work throughout lockdown, providing hot meals and key support to homeless individuals in need.
