JPG Group provide high quality civil and structural engineering consultancy services, UK wide and internationally. We recently caught up with David Allwood, Managing Director, about why they choose to support Leeds Community Foundation. 

 

How have you been involved with Leeds Community Foundation? 

JPG Group first established in Leeds over 36 years ago, providing valued engineering solutions for the commercial real estate industry across the UK and overseas.   We have expanded our team to over 45 people with an additional Midlands office, but Leeds remains our headquartered home.  

We have always supported charitable causes wherever possible and a chance introduction to Leeds Community Foundation two years ago allowed us to see the incredible work that it achieves through just a small team and supporters like us.  We joined as a member two years ago and regularly host our own fundraising initiatives as well as attending supporter events.  

 

Why is it important to you to support local communities? 

Social responsibility and community engagement are very important to JPG which is committed to, and actively involved, with a number of local support initiatives.  

It is immensely rewarding for the business and our people to be able to unite with other businesses in the local area and be involved in some meaningful social impact.   

Providing support to those most disadvantaged and vulnerable in our local society is very much embedded into our culture at JPG. 

 

What do you love about Leeds? 

Leeds has a tremendous history and cultural heritage, why wouldn’t you love it? As the UK’s fasted growing city, it’s a fantastic place to do business and has something for anyone who wants to live here.   

The talent resource, innovation, and creativity is outstanding but like any other major city, there are pockets of deprivation where young people do not have fair access to education and even some of the most basic provisions.  

 

What advice would you give to people who are thinking about supporting Leeds Community Foundation? 

Know that you can make an impact, however large or small, and get in touch.  As much as we’d like to dedicate more time to support the Foundation, it’s not always possible so it’s great to have the flexibility to join other initiatives as well as organising our own. The Leeds Community Foundation team is fantastic at demonstrating impact, giving our team something to be really proud of.
