Supporting families and strengthening community organisations with Bartlett Group
30 October 2024
6 community organisations are supporting families in vulnerable circumstances thanks to the Bartlett Group Fund, our partnership with The Bartlett Foundation.
Multi-year, largely unrestricted funding is enabling Leeds and Bradford charities to deliver holistic programmes that make a positive change to the lives of children and young people. Among the 2,000 people supported are those living in poverty, those experiencing mental health issues, those at risk of offending and ex-offenders, and the long-term unemployed.
One organisation, Leeds GATE, said “This funding has been paramount in our ever-growing vision to engage and reach young people.”
Their grant is helping them to continue and expand the groups and resources they offer to improve quality of life for Gypsy and Traveller people, including 1:1 advocacy work, community action groups, mental health support, employability sessions and a creche facility.
As well as providing vital support for people in our communities, the flexible funding is also having a positive impact on the organisations themselves. All say they’ve been able to improve or maintain their regular activities, to grow or maintain their organisational capacity, and to increase their organisational expertise. Two credit their greater capacity with enabling them to secure a combined £233k in additional funding.
With a year remaining on their grants, we look forward to sharing even more about the impact of the Bartlett Group Fund.
