The Bradford Fund 2021 – Building Resilient Organisations

16 February 2022

The Bradford Fund helps Community Organisations in the district to become more resilient; building stronger organisations that will be around to support people in Bradford for years to come. Feedback from organisations and across the voluntary sector highlights the need for funding that can be used to support core costs and organisational development.

The first round of The Bradford Fund invested £140,000 through 12 Strategic Grants and 8 Micro Grants in December 2021. Micro Grants up to £2,500 and Strategic Grants of £10,000 were awarded to Community Organisations to give them the time and resources to develop.

For up to 12 months, organisations will use their grants to look at the areas of development most relevant to them, such as effective leadership, finance and operations, and understanding and demonstrating impact.

The grants can be invested in various ways, including to allow leaders and teams to step back from their day-to-day delivery to reflect, identify areas for improvement, plan and work towards objectives, and learn as they go.

In addition, as part of the programme organisations will receive tailored support with identifying their priorities and action planning. They will also come together with other groups to share and learn from each other.

As the demand on Community Organisations continues to increase as a result of the pandemic and cost of living crisis, investment to help them survive and develop is vital.
