The Leeds Community Foundation Sylvie Nunn Memorial Award

We are pleased to announce the Leeds Community Foundation Sylvie Nunn Memorial Award, honouring Sylvie’s memory by recognising Community Organisations’ work with underrepresented communities. 

Sylvie was an extraordinary person, an accomplished charity lawyer and a long-term friend and Company Secretary of Leeds Community Foundation. She tirelessly gave her own time to support those who needed her help, and sadly passed away in 2022 before she was able to complete many of her projects. 

Syvlie was an advocate for underrepresented communities, keen to promote the voices of those often overlooked, and her life taught her great skills in intercultural dialogue and understanding. 

During the 8 years that Sylvie worked alongside the Foundation, she helped to make our activity more inclusive and supported the development of a Bradford-led provision for Bradford District. 

In honour of Sylvie, each year we will acknowledge one recipient of The Leeds Fund Microgrants with the Leeds Community Foundation Sylvie Nunn Memorial Award. The award will recognise the most innovative idea to break new ground for underrepresented communities or to support those often overlooked to be heard. 

We hope the Leeds Community Foundation Sylvie Nunn Memorial Award will continue to celebrate the life and dedication of our good friend. 

Sylvie’s legacy is also celebrated through the Trust set up in her memory and through her colleagues at Wrigleys.
