The Leeds Fund Microgrants Spring 2024

5 August 2024

Almost £20,000 has been invested through the latest round of The Leeds Fund Microgrants. The round supported 10 Leeds Community Organisations, who will deliver a range of activities with their funding.

The Leeds Fund Microgrants supports small and emerging Leeds-based Community Organisations that may not be able to access larger grants programmes. They can use their funding for a variety of activities to support their communities through increased capacity or project work.

The organisations that were awarded funding in the spring round are:

        • Big Hope 4 All
        • Friends of Stanningley Park
        • Leeds STP Community
        • UMOJA Leeds
        • Unity Does MAATer

The funded activities include:

        • Organising a lantern parade with workshops for local community members and school children to make lanterns.
        • Hiring an administrator to support a volunteer trustee board.
        • Training coaches to support people to learn to read.
        • A weekly health and wellbeing group with creative activities for women mainly with leave to remain status.
        • Delivering performances with music from the 50s, 60s and 70s for older people in care homes and community centres.

Since 2017, 160 Microgrants have been given out through The Leeds Fund, with several recipients going on to develop their ideas and receive further funding from Leeds Community Foundation.
