The Lightbulb Fund 2026

We’ve invested £100,000 in 5 Leeds community organisations through the first round of The Lightbulb Fund.
The programme supports projects working with young people in care, or leaving care, and looked after children.
The organisations that were awarded funding are:
The funded activities include:

- Delivering a weekly music session for young care leavers to express themselves musically in a safe, informal, but structured atmosphere.

- Supporting care experienced girls and young women who are pregnant and/or parenting, to prepare for birth and beyond, advocate for their rights and break the intergenerational cycle of children entering care.

- Delivering 12-week mental health and wellbeing programmes providing targeted and preventative support for looked after children, young people in care and care leavers.
The organisations have been funded for 2 years, and we look forward to sharing the success of their projects as they continue.
